Good smell not too strong but clean fresh smell

Smells good when you first spray it. . The scent is gone within the hour.

This is a great scent, it has a pleasant floral first smell, with patchouli and citrus lingering on the back end.

Great for spring/summer!

I love the old red bottle Lacoste. It never stays on very long and you can't buy it anymore so I went to try a new version of Lacoste. Love the smell stays on about half day and is quite strong at the beginning but does mellow out. It is definitely a high quality scent

They really made a true classic scent. This old-fashioned cologne has the traditional intensity of a more aged cologne with plenty of modern appeal. Truly a classic reinvented.

I had high hopes for this cologne based on the reviews, but it wasn't for me. Could almost be a unisex cologne/perfume. Smells like something Kelly LeBrock's character would've worn in the 80's movie Weird Science.

This scent is one of my favorites, but I wish it was a longer-lasting parfum instead of an EDT.

One of my favorite new fragrances that I've tried. It has a fresh clean scent, but is also manly and seems to last longer than some of my other favorite Summer time scents. I might have to get a bottle of this.

Light and clean smelling, I prefer this over versace blue and armani code. Both of those were strong on the flowery / fragrant side of the spectrum. Lacoste is a better fit and not over powering. Still very masculine but not musky at all. Will definitely be buying this full bottle in the future. Too bad I waited so long to discover this classic. Guys, you owe it to try a sample of this is your still looking for an everyday-er.

SMELLS CLEAN, FRESH, CITRUSY, GREAT. UNFORTUNATELY IT DOESN'T LAST. I BOUGHT IT ONCE AT THE AGE OF 20 AND THE SCENT WOULDN'T LAST, NOW THAT IM 30 I THINK I WOULD HAVE TO GIVE IT ANOTHER SHOT, DON'T THINK THERE WOULD BE A DIFFERENCE THO.

The only reason I did not give five stars is because of the longevity I love this smell. This is by far the best Lacoste I have smelled so far. This is an everyday any occasion cologne.

I got the deluxe membership because I love to smell good and that means I love cologne. I bought this scent about 2 years ago on a blind buy. I was blown away by it So what I did with my deluxe membership is I got one cologne that I’ve liked before and have used and my second choice I get one from the same designer but as a blind buy. This smell is a sure fire spring/summer scent. It wil definitely turn heads and get a comment from someone . If you like musks this one is not for you it is a citrus scent throughout. If you want a great musk one get the Lacoste white which I did a review on as well. But this scent is great. 120% recommended .lasts about 3/5hours off 3 sprays. 1/2 sprays for touch ups after the 3/5 hour period.

I say its an everyday scent, not very strong i recomend buyin the whole bottle. I like it and will continue using it.

ITS BORING AND ANY COLOGNE WITH TOMATO LEAF IN IT STINKS

Definitely a fresh choice that ladies like bc of the clean smell (out of the shower). Don't spray too much (over 4) bc you WILL smell like a can of RAID. Awesome in moderation

I got this as a free sample and passed it over to my husband- so he tried it and i must say i was very surprised!! Very light woodsy citrusy scent!! Not at all like most mens cologne that just reek or makes your nose crinkle. Just fresh and light and clean smelling. I really like that it has none of that gross deep musky smell- This one is a keeper!!

I absolutely love this scent! I'm going out to buy a bottle for my boyfriend this weekend (and one for myself too)! It's so refreshing and yet not too over-the-top. I think a woman could definitely pull this off. I'm also a huge fan of Burberry Brit for Men-- it is INTOXICATING on my boyfriend's neck.

very dissapoint from lacoste. too casual, too subtle but a decent scent.if you must have a nice casual scent but a head turner check for geir. expensive but well worth the dough.

And I can understand why Tony T. has gone back on his original view on Essential. When I got it, I had the same impression on this one and thought of it as a five star, but after a couple of months it just didn't feel the same to me with regards to its strength. Though it sure has its place in your collection and as everyone knows women have better olfactory sense than us men, had only positive feedbacks from the ladies so I'm happy with it.

This cologne is perfect for when you are just laying back in the casual without any thoughts of making an impression on anyone. It's subtle but will give out its aura if someone ventures near, sillage being just appropriate. It's clean and fresh and one of the better casual greens you can find. It's not quite the top dog but it sure is essential addition to your collection. Lacoste has done good with this one.

I believe this scent is an upcoming classic! It is fresh, clean, masculine and different. It isn't overpowering, but definitely leaves an impression. I've tried several scents -- this one is number 1.

When I initially applied this eau de toilette it gave me the impression of fresh outdoors, a bit sweet, but overall pleasant. It is definitely a unisex fragrance and not a manly-man scent. But what really put me off was after a minute, the initial fresh scent faded and was replaced with a very stale, stagnant odor. Just to be certain, I sprayed the fragrance on an unscented piece of paper, but the results were identical. Be sure to sample this one before you buy it.

To be honest, when I 1st smelled it that was what hit me. a 1970s old man green scent. My girl did not like it but my mother went nuts over it. But it has a modern freshness to it lying underneath. Must be the tangerine. It is a good cologne for a collection and rotation. Not your one and only!

The crocodile captured my attention the very first time I saw this cologne. Fresh, clean scent that last. Truly one of my top fragrances.

You must like green scents to purchase this. It went on terrible on my skin. Very bitter, very sour. But it did smell great on my clothes and on other fellas who've brought this. Very original classic/green with a modern fresh twists smell. And yes rubbing your skin will "stur" the smell again. A MUST to sample first.

Bought the last bottle at the dept. store yesterday. put some on before i went to work and had all kinds of people ask me what i was wearing..I simply told them what it was and they replyed saying they have never really smelled something like that before.

Lacoste has definitely outdone themselves and now have a place on the map to success with this outstanding fresh, green burst of energy.

start wearing it now before it's too late, I'm not suprised if this will get be as popular as acqua di gio. Lacoste Essential is my favourite.
