SUPER strong! Like literally gave me a headache. And it definitely smells like an "old lady" perfume. Do not recommend!

As my husband said, this smells like an old lady that’s depressed in a house with dead flowers… not for me

Love the black bottle if this and figured I would try the gold bottle thinking it would just be a little more intense. Not the case for me. I do not like it nearly as much as the black bottle. There is just something a little off for me with this one. I wish we could give half star ratings. I would give it a 3.5.

I like this a lot more than the other scent I received this month. So, it has that going for it. Smell wise- there's something almost minty/piney about it- somewhere between those two smells. Just a tease though. Other than that- it smells how I figured it would smell. Quite strong though. I will wear it. I won't get it again probably, but I don't mind it at all.

I wanted to love it, but it smells like Christmas on me. Like a cross between pine and potpourri. I am going to try to layer it with a strong vanilla and see if that works. Don’t last as long as I would expect either. Maybe a couple of hours.

I wish that I had read the reviews before I selected this fragrance. I agree with so many of the comments. It very much "old lady" and I, too, cannot wait to wash this off. Unfortunately, the old lady smell didn't hit me until I was out of the house and I'm stuck smelling this ALL DAY! I had to ride the elevator with someone this morning and couldn't get off quick enough because I knew that I was offensive! This one definitely needs to be archived!

Not bad but not memorable

This one is not for me. I love TF scents, but this missed the mark, I hate to say "old lady" because I am an old lady and like old lady scents. This missed the mark for me.

The oud smell is a really heavy note that kind of drowns out the delicate floral notes. It's spicy and warm. This is a fragrance that requires commitment

I received this and Gucci Guilty this month. Both are so very similar yet uniquely different. This one too, smells dark and floral. The name Black Orchid is perfect if considered in a literal sense. Funeral is what comes to mind. A black veil over funeral flowers.

I don't know how to feel about this one. At first, when I put it on, it's strong and overwhelming. It smells like something an old lady would wear, but once the scent dies down a bit, I absolutely love it! It lasts a long time too, which is nice. This is definitely a mature, fall or winter scent.

This is a weird one for me. I found it too strong and old ladyish. However when I have worn it, I have had a lot of complements. So it seems everyone else likes it on me, apart from me!

A beauty of scent. She is a vibrant girl. Full of heady spice. This is a lovely scent to wear in the evening. Or if you feel like being mysterious during the day. It seems to last and the dry down stays true. Tom Ford is too pricey for full size. So glad I could try in an affordable size.

Personally its the worst perfume I've ever had the misfortune to wear. It could be for someone, but definitely not me. I enjoy deep intense scents, but this is just painful. I can even smell the cap without feeling sick.

I didn't like this at first, but the more I tried it I began to like it really well. It lasts for days on clothing and a little goes a long way. Definitely a winter perfume, very spicy and dark. I get compliments every time I wear it. I don't think a younger person would find this appealing, but mature women will.

I probably would have loved this fragrance as I adore woodsy, spicy notes but I never received my order and when I called they said I had to email my complaint...why? I was on the phone speaking to an actual person! So here we are over a month later... no perfume and no refund.

This is a true perfume in that the initial scent, scent after a few minutes, and scent after a few hours are all distinctly different and beautiful. TF fragrances are wonderful in that way. How this fragrance dries down on you will depend on your own interaction with it, but on me I loved how the spicy notes came through but in a harmony with the sensual truffle and florals. This scent truly lasts all day and garnered many compliments.

Beautiful fragrance that lasts all day

NO NO NO NO! After reading the reviews which are very mixed I thought that this was the fragrance that was exactly for me. There are a lot of fragrances that I don’t like that this is one that I truly loath. I don’t know what it is I like things that are spicy and earthy and all of that but this is just too strong on so many different levels with its notes. One of the things that I pick up is a pepper which would usually be fine for me but what other notes they have with it just does not go or work for me. I am 43 and everything I read made the sound like it was the fragrance for me but it absolutely is not. I love other fragrances that are in Townsend earthy such as black opium but this is just vile. I really wanted to like it but I can’t. It is very strong which is not always an issue for me and the dry down is on but I still grid not like it. Is different I’ll give it that.

At first spray I thought "eww, no". Buuut...after a few minutes I could not stop smelling my wrist! This smells grown and sexy, it's a bolder scent but not overpowering in my opinion. I'm no perfume expert but to me it's like a musky floral with a hint of something else. I'll need to find a dupe if I want more because it's pretty pricey.

I was not a fan Tom Ford fragrances are expensive and always too strong for me. This one had a strong musky almost tobacco like smell that I didn't like. It felt like a very masculine scent.

Love this perfume. Smells very similar to the edt but on my skin it is a little less sweet and less floral and more spicy. I love then both but the edp is better on my skin. I usually cannot wear scents with ylang-ylang, as they turn sickly sweet on me, but black Orchid is an exception. Got lots of compliments when wearing. Great longevity, could still smell the next morning.

VERY MATURE! If you’ve ever wondered what Meryl Streep’s character in The Devil Wears Prada smells like, this is it. On a positive note, the fragrance smells expensive! It lasted for hours. Even after I took a shower I could still smell it. This perfume irritated my skin a little as soon as I sprayed it.

I like the longevity of the fragrance, but it is in your face. Definitely not for everyone, but I still would wear it.

I thought this perfume would be fabulous based on all the reviews. However, as soon as I put it on - BAM instant headache, something about the smell did not sit right with me. I felt it had a chemical smell.

I can see why people love this but I gave it a 3 star because I'm not sure how I feel about it. I love it then I hate it. At first, it smells great but then you get a whiff of god knows what and that is why I landed on a 3 star. Sorry, I'm not a pro at explaining fragrances.

On my nose, this is very similar to Tom Ford Black Orchid but lasts longer. Love the opening - sweet and floral then it becomes an ashtray scent which I dislike. On dry down, I get some chocolate. I love it.

This needs time to settle to be appreciated. I love the woody and plum scents, very cozy and romantic. Not perfect for me, I need to keep looking, but straight out of the bottle I was not impressed. Revisited, it's rather lovely. Not overpowering either. I'd like this smell on either a man or a woman.

Very strong smelling. Definitely has the grandma vibes. Too powdery and the patuli smell is way too overpowering

I tried Black Orchid before this one, so my expectations were high. Unfortunately this one missed the mark. It has the same recognizable floral sweetness that its predecessor has, but has a rather unpleasant musk that seems to clash with the soft floral notes. It is way too strong going on, and doesn’t last as long as Black Orchid. I would have preferred a hint of truffle that the description claims it has.

Different from what I like, and it took a minute to get used to it, due to the heavy scent, kinda smells like a man's fragrant but I got compliments after compliments, so I knew I had something special. I will eventually get the full-size bottle and keep this for a romantic date night, not something I would use as an everyday perfume only on special occasions. Overall it has my rate at 5 stars worth trying!

Not for the faint of heart, this is a scent for a woman that is in control, at first it smells quite masculine the woody notes are a bit loud in the beginning in the first 10 minutes it starts to wear down into a warm and cozy amber with woody notes taking the back seat, lovely perfume, quite official though

Ok so first off I’m a 30 year old heterosexual male that likes unisex fragrances. I blind ordered this, thinking if I didn’t like it I’d give it away to some girl. After the first spray I knew I was going to be keeping it for myself. It’s very sexy smelling IMO. I tend to use it for nights out. Definitely not a hot weather daytime fragrance. Also the performance is just amazing, 1 spray is doable and 3 sprays if you really want to grab attention. Will definitely need more when I run out.

Honestly this is how I imagine a succubus would smell; dark, mysterious, sexy, alluring, even taboo? This is signature scent worthy for a confident person 30+. This perfume is a unique scent and although it contains patchouli, it's not the strong note that remind of incense shops and herbal remedy shops. The perfume is sensual with notes of dark florals and you definitely get the rum in this perfume which sounds weird but adds to the warmth of the fragrance. This is definitely a warm mature scent that would be appropriate for both men and women as designed. If you're looking for a young millennial floral or sweet this isn't it but if you're looking for that dark and sexy scent that lasts then you've come to the right product.

It does smell like an older persons parfum. I thought it was just ok. I wouldn't buy it.

At first it was too strong and not something I thought I would like but as it dried down it was amazing! It was almost as if it gradually kept changing into something better, if that makes sense. Smells like an old lady perfume.

Upon first spray, it’s a very intense, heady floral note and on closer sniff, I smell a fresh box of crayons. Then, the scent mellows out into a slightly sweet, bright floral, earthy, sandalwood that sits close to the skin and lasts and lasts. The patchouli is not very strong in comparison to the original Black Orchid. I enjoyed how the scent morphs over time and encourages you to keep sniffing.

It may be a unisex scent, but it definitely smells like a perfume an old lady would wear.

It is a strong cologne that starts to get better over time. I'm hoping scent box will come out with more Tom Ford perfumes in the future :)
