The scent of a traditional olfactory rose, the Damascena, is twisted by darkening its character. A classic symbol of love and devotion, the rose becomes decadent and dirty in Rose Noir, with an almost bestial quality.

Rose Noir by Byredo is a Floral Woody Musk fragrance for women and men. Rose Noir was launched in 2008. Top notes are Grapefruit and Freesia. Middle note is Damask Rose. Base notes are Oakmoss, Labdanum and Musk.

This is a lovely scent with darker notes and a deeper rose fragrance than most rose fragrances. Not too sweet or too flowery.

I like it but it doesn’t last long. I’m not getting a real rose fragrance more of a light incense. Very pleasant but not for me.

It smells delightful but doesn't have any staying power. Would not buy or add to my calendar again.

Although I smell the rise, it's not a sharp, fresh rise scent, but more of a muted, damask rose scent. It also has a smoky, incense flair, but, it's one that I can handle. I'm not a fan of incense smells, but this one doesn't take my breath away like some do. It's a nice balance. I'd use this scent if I wanted to leave a lasting impression.
