Parfums de Nicolai
Rose Oud opens with a lush and spicy raspberry rose at once opulent and playful. The bright fruit, delicate florals, and musky castoreum deliver a scent royal enough for a queen, but a queen with a wild side and maybe a raucous pet tiger.
The delightful and lively head and heart of Rose Oud are held in place by pillars of agarwood, patchouli, sandalwood, and amber. Vanilla smooths and tempers the animal facets of castoreum.
A perfect scent for lovers of fruity rose who are looking for a bit of edge and a great longevity, Rose Oud will deliver and delight.

I was reluctant to try this given the reviews but I'm so glad I did. It's a classical French style woody rose perfume with some chypre touches and fresh, powdery greenness that suggests geranium or galbanum. It's airy and a bit powdery with a fullness that shows off the high quality natural materials in the fragrance. A very enjoyable and elegant wear- the sillage and aura of the perfume is better than how it smells close to the skin as my nose picks up the camphorous aspects of patchouli when smelled at an intimate distance. My only complaint is that the top and heart notes mostly fade after a four to five hours leaving a woody amber dry down that is too common in a lot of contemporary fragrances. I am wearing it on a cool humid spring day and it is delightful. As many others have said, I don't readily identify what I would recognize as oud, so keep that in mind if you are oud averse or really like oud. The raspberry note is very subtle. This is not a fruity perfume at all.
This perfume can be cloying and if you use too much, but I find that the less I use the more I like the scent. It's more of an evening scent.
Smell to much like flowers
Very powdery and I don't smell the rose. The oud is there but everything else seems overwhelmed by the Lily.
It definitely has a slightly powdery and heavy handed with the rose- which, considering I am the third person to mention that- should probably be highlighted more in the description. But the rose and powder are the first parts of the smell to dissipate- and once they do, its a delightful smell. I did not find the rose or powder overwhelming even when first spraying, but they are definitely a stronger early sent and I would not have purchased had I known that, but since its here, I'll wear it, I'll just make sure I spray it an hour before I go anywhere. Plus- I work with senior citizens.... they love it. . . . So good for work, but not necessarily the market I was aiming to please. I was more interested in my own preference and that of my husband. He says "Meh, its fine. I like you other one better." I agree.
Arrived broken. Smells too flowery and old lady like.
Not for me very powdery and
I love this scent. I get compliments on this scent.
