Nishane
Inspired by the Sufi poet Rumi's exhortation to Set your life on fire. Seek those who fan your flames, Fan Your Fames is a fiery, semi gourmand fragrance that is all about the kind of passion that spills over into obsession. Featuring a haze of white shisha smoke over a melange of woody coconut husks, booze, and a mossy, balsamic base, Fan Your Flames is a stunning take on tobacco that extends the material in several different directions at once.
First, the dried fruit and molasses sweetness of tobacco leaf is drawn out in an exotic direction by way of coconut husk and rum, with a sort of fermented fruit undertone suggestive of Japanese brandy, the kind that costs $500 a bottle. Directly underneath this, coumarin coaxes the hay facets out of the tobacco leaf, introducing a uniquely dry, sunburned grass tonality that tempers the sweetness of the booze. In the base, cooling, greenish hints of fir, cedar, mint, and oakmoss emerge, accentuating the bitter woodiness inherent in dried tobacco leaves.
Now imagine all this wrapped up in a haze of tarry smoke, like a leather armchair left to smolder in the ashes of a house fire. Fan Your Flames is intoxicating, obsessive, strange, and almost bewilderingly dense wear it many times before the smoke starts to lift and you begin to understand its true beauty.

Not for me. I was not a fan of how it paired with my body chemistry
I didn't care for the top notes; to me they were very strong, and both sweet and bitter. Initially I thought I'd send it back. After about two hours though I was intrigued. Some niche perfume houses pose more of a challenge for my nose. The way the tonka came through seemed pretty unique; definitely a dark boozy tonka tucked into the corners of the oakmoss and cedar. I kept sniffing the inside of my elbow for a hit of that sweet note (and I rarely like tonka). I don't find it overly masculine but I will add there is a naturally a sweet note in my skin chemistry.
Too powdery for me
I totally understand why people enjoy this fragrance. It’s boozy. It’s smokey. It’s spicy. It’s clearly a quality fragrance. It’s just not for me.
Fan your Flames is proving to me that Nishane is definitely a house you need for your collection .. Absolutely love this one and it's perfect for the summertime and definitely safe for an office scent
It smells exactly like DJ Ambre Tabac with coconut and rum on top. The rum is sweet and the coconut is earthy, like fresh husks. It smells delicious, but the coconut and rum make it too overpowering for me to wear. I prefer Ambre Tabac as it has the smoky scent without the booziness. Apply this one sparingly as you will stop smelling it very quickly if you use too much.
This house is becoming my favorite. I love this scent. I wouldn’t label it a powerhouse but it does have good sillage. A perfect everyday scent but also good for special occasions. Smells fantastic.
Fan Your Flames is... daring? Dashing? I don't know but I can smell it across the house when husband chooses it for evening. Definitely not a daytime/ office fragrance.
I love this fragrance. I love the initial spray as well as the dry down! I have gotten many compliments!
Not for everyone ! This is a very well performing fragrance with a very nice scent but I feel like it is very peculiar and will suit only a specific group of people. The scent is the only reason I give it a 4 , It is just not for me but this fragrance is very high crafted with mega high quality , depth and stages. It smells to me of very boozy at first with a strong dose of alcohol but then dries down into this burnt coconut with burnt sugar . The coconut fades a little towards the dry down and the sugar shines a lot . Very complex and not a cloud pleaser but a fine nose will appreciate this fragrance a lot. Great from Nishane but its not my vibe.
Been wanting to get my nose on this one for over a year and it didn't disappoint. However the opening can be intense, you gotta wait about 10 minutes on this one for the rum and coconut to begin to shine. After that, it only gets better.
SURPRISE! Yep. That's how I feel. When I first tried this on, I was seriously going to send it back. Well, I'm glad I didn't. I tried it again for a full weekend day and as morning became afternoon, my hesitation became pure love. Through Scent Box, I have learned that I am a woodsy, sort of grounded, sexy perfume gal. Add that to my love of whiskey (could bathe in the warm, vanilla-y, scent of bourbon) and this fragrance screams sexy evening to me. Wearing it out tonight... look out!
Very nice slightly boozy date night scent.
I LOOOOVVVEE FAN YOUR FLAMES! WILL REPURCHASE SOON!!
Love this scent, is a new favorite that I'm gonna have to always have onhand. I'd wear it year-round for pretty much any occassion, i feel like it's a signature scent. Warm and inviting.
This cologne smells horrendous! I pick up a strong rum scent in the opening. Once it settles, it smells like burnt coconut with a synthetic undertone. Don't buy this overpriced scent! It lasts all day, which is the only upside.
NOT EVER AGAIN! 1 spritz to test the smell and I never touched it again!
I love the oak moss.. it can't be duplicated. Some come close but miss that aspect
Boozy & smokey with a touch of leather (but not animalic). Unisex leaning a bit masculine to my nose. You can smell the coconut in the opening but to me that dissipates and I don't notice it in the dry down, although my husband can smell the coconut throughout. It is not very sweet just a touch that really balances this out. Long lasting and to me this is a fall/winter perfume or for a cooler summer night. This won't be for everyone and definitely not a safe blind buy. Happy to have the decant but won't purchase a full bottle. This decant should last me a long time as it is not something I will wear often.
Not for me. It smells very heavy, very masculine.
Love the smokey complexity. Wish it had better longevity and projection.
Smells like coconut roasted on a fire. Smells a bit sweeter after it's been on for a while. I really love tobacco scents, so this is one of my favorites
I don't get any sweetness it smells like burnt ashy coconut it isn't bad but NOT what I expected and I'm pretty good at blind buys and guessing scent profiles.
I wanted to like this. It was just too syrupy sweet for me. I think fans of Xerjoff's smokier offerings would like it ("Don" comes to mind).
This perfume is Fantastic! ...I'll probably order again!
Nice scent, though a little too masculine to be in my comfort zone. I was expecting it to be sweeter with the rum, tonka bean and coconut notes, but it’s definitely more woody and smoky that anything else. It does have a nice cozy feel to it so it would make a great winter lounging fragrance, though I’ll likely layer it with something to bring out it’s sweeter side. I’ve gotten compliments wearing it just as it is though.
Wonder woody smokey scent. The smoke is very strong but I love it.
Not for me!
Too masculine. Very interesting scent though, lots of different flavors every time I wore it.
Incredibly unique and warm, perfect for a touch of interest without the overwhelm of a more powerful perfume. The longevity isn't incredible, but passible as it dries to a more subtle profile on me personally. One of my favorites so far!
what I get from this is a Sweetness and well it smells like Ashes from a Fire Given that the this is called Fan your Flames it's appropriate. it has decent longevity and it's a Masculine Scent.
Beautiful scent.
To me this is a very masculine scent. And the Smokey notes are a little overwhelming.
I can't say I like this. I can't really describe what it smells like. It's smokey. I can't say I hate it either. I will wear it more before I totally write it off.
Reminds everybody of the Christmas smell. Not really liking it. Reminds me of a household fragrance in the holiday time
Strong fragrance, I love it
Complex, rich wood with some sweetness. Very enthusiastic compliments.
Another great scent from Nishane. But I have to admit, I didn't like it when I first sprayed it. It had to die down a bit for me to get the notes. I got some coconut and maybe Tonka bean with a hint of tobacco. A really unique fragrance.
Smokey, spicy, sexy. It felt a bit masculine for me and i wanted a bit more vanilla to come through.. I layer it with Lavanilla, which is pretty sweet. The balance between the 2 is perfect.
I actually really love it! I love the traditional oud/Arabic scents with the surprise of coconut. I took one star off because it might be “too much” for many people to appreciate, but I really, really enjoy it. The giving wears off a bit as the day goes and it warms up to a really beauty oud smell
Like wearing luxury cinnamon candy. I don’t get any hints of coconut but that’s fine by me. The warm whiskey scent becomes apparent during the dry down. Very nice.
Didn't really enjoy this fragrance. It does pack a punch and fill the room.
the coconut in this is harsh, smells rotten and foul on my skin. i thought i’d love it given the notes being up my alley but all i get is a slightly boozy rotten coconut
Wonderful fragrance with incredible longevity and potency. A lovely, soft spicy fragrance
